This print is inspired by this year’s Lunar New Year ( year of the Fire Horse)! The horses symbolize swiftness, independence, and forward motion, while the red colour and fiery elements represent ambition, transformation and rapid progress. The horses are galloping among the clouds and rising together, supporting each other in their dreams and passions :)

The hummingbirds featured at the top symbolize joy, vitality, resilience and adaptability, while the Butterly at the bottom represents transformation, rebirth and personal growth.

Overall, I wanted this print to feel empowering and uplifting, and help inspire those who connect with it to move forward towards their dreams with passion, self-love, kindness and the support of their community.

What is risograph printing?

A risograph printer looks like a photocopier, but works as a screen printer. It uses rich spot colours and stencils to create textured and vibrant prints. Each colour is individually printed onto the paper with a stencil, and attributes such as registration and texture can vary slightly with each print.

This art print is printed by Vide Press in Toronto, Ontario on FSC certified paper using soy-based inks.
