Music has always been a huge part of my life and provides me with endless creative inspiration. Album artwork has intrigued me since I was young and had a really big influence on me deciding to pursue graphic design. I’ve always loved the idea of communicating songs and artist personalities into visual stories and as someone who is passionate about conceptual, creative design, It’s always been something I felt I would really enjoy.
I took part in a creative challenge put on my Adobe back in September, encouraging designers to create album artwork for one of their favourite artists. At the time I had just discovered British R&B/Soul artist Pip Millett and found myself listening to her album Lost In June a lot. This cover is Inspired by the delicate yet powerful lyrics, the general theme of growth and self-discovery as well as the album title.
Inspired by personal stories, memories and my partner’s interest in space, I created a custom record jacket with two “mix tape” vinyls. The background was hand-done in Procreate and Photoshop, and everything else was drawn in Illustrator.
